I really wanted a copy, but I left my cash at home. But luckily, out of a spirit of generosity, he gave me one for free.
I will write a book myself, so I used this moment to ask a published author what it took to get his book published. He said it took about 3 years from start to finish. He also shared an insight that I didn’t expect. He said that although he published his book traditionally, he recommended that I look into self-publishing.
He then went on to describe how traditional publishers have new requirements, most notably, authors having their own following before they even look at your manuscript. He suggested that I read Michael Hyatt’s, Platform: Get Noticed In A Noisy World. I knew who Michael was from listening to his podcast, so I was already familiar with his style and I liked it. [Read more →]
